It requires the post holder to co-ordinate resources and liaise with internal and external key contacts to ensure work is delivered on time and to a quality standard.Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power toolsDiagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problemManage the company Pat Testing System and LogResponsible for overseeing the training of co-workers on how to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixturesAssist with the design of control circuits for existing and new build machinery including wiring to the PLC as well as creating panel layoutsAssist the production manager with the compilation of build of materials and other technical project documentationPrepare drawings or follow Engineering drawings to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codesMaintain records and files, preparing electrical reports, test certificates and liaise with the procurement team when ordering supplies and equipmentProvide preliminary drawings and cost estimates for materials and servicesAssist the Procurement Team by testing and preparing Electrical and Mechanical spares for customersThe post holder might occasionally be asked to work overtime or out of hours in order to ensure project deadlines are metThe post holder might occasionally be asked to travel within and outside of the UK in support of company projectsQualificationsEducation18th Edition BS7671 IET Wiring RegsExperience with Electrical Control PanelsElectical Test/Fault Finging & RectificationSpecialized knowledgeThe minimum requirement for the post of ECE would be a 3 year engineering apprenticeship in electrical/control engineering. Experience in a civil/marine/aerospace engineering capacity is a necessity.SkillsAn understanding of the requirements of assembly, test, fault finding and rectification of complex electromechanical components and machines.
