Job overview
We are looking to recruit an Operational Manager for the MatNeo portfolio for a period of maternity leave cover for 12 months.
The post holder will be working with the Divisional Director of Operations (DDO), Divisional Manager, Clinical Leads for Obstetrics and Gynaecology and the Senior Nursing and Midwifery teams across the division, to support the delivery of high-quality Divisional performance and deliver the best service for service users. They will support the effective delivery of key operational targets and services within the Maternity and Neonatal service in line with relevant Trust policies; this will require the post holder to have good organisational and interpersonal skills.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will beinvolvedinprojectsandinitiatives as part of the Improving Together Programme and be responsible with the Divisional Management Team forkeyperformancetargetswhich include compliance to CQC regulations, Maternity Incentive Scheme, Maternity Services Single delivery plan, the Ockenden Report and related finance and audits.
They will be required toundertakeinformation/projectanalysisandparticipateinrelevantwork streams and priorities for the service. Theywillhave working knowledge of these targets and be able to provide accurate and timely data to produce performancereportsandmakerecommendations,thatensureservicesoperateinaccordancewith approvedstandardoperatingprocedures. They willalsoberequiredtosupporttheimplementation of process and pathways, in accordance with the agreed priorities of theteam.
The post holder may undertake projects more widely across the division as determined by the Divisional Management Team (DMT). The post holder will be required to support the management of other specialties as appropriate/required within the division.

Qualifications
* 5 GCESEs or O Levels, including: Maths & English
* NVQ 5 in Management or Administration or equivalent
* Diploma in Healthcare Management or equivalent
* Evidence of continued professional development (CPD)
* Use of Lorenzo, CRIS, Power BI
Experience
* Experience in service and operational management/leadership at a senior level
* Dealing with staff problems and patient complaints etc. at a senior level.
* Experience of coordinating & chairing meetings
* Experience of delivering training for staff from a range of professions.
* Experience of working with/within clinical specialties
* Experience of performance management
* Experience in developing Business Cases
* Experience of workforce planning and development
Knowledge and Skills
* Awareness of healthcare policy issues and Appreciation of the changing NHS environment
* Demonstrable knowledge of Performance Management ,Operational Management, Business planning, Strategic Planning, Service Development, Personnel Management practices and policies, Risk Management
* Proven change management skills
* Team leader
* Good inter-personal communication skills
