About the Team Warwickshire Educational Psychology Service (EPS) is a community focussed service, which strives for inclusion by removing barriers. We have continued to grow and further develop our offer and have maintained our well-founded reputation for supporting settings and other services. We have developed innovative ways of delivering support to parents/carers, children/young people, schools, and other settings, increasing the use of consultation, and continue to focus on gaining positive outcomes for Warwickshire’s children, young people and families. We are a large, vibrant, and strong service of over forty EPs. Each team is led by a Senior Educational Psychologist. The breadth and range of work undertaken across the service is hugely varied. We contribute and take a lead in a range of strategic initiatives within the Local Authority such as: Senior Mental Health Lead Training Attachment Aware and Trauma Informed Schools Projects Emotional Based School Non Attendance Pathway ELSA Building Inclusive Schools Project EP led Literacy Approach About the role We have a fantastic opportunity to join our creative and friendly team. We have two posts available to Start September 2026, fixed term for one year (two year maximum), embedded in our district teams across Warwickshire. In this role you will be an integral part of the service working with EPs on school based work aligning to SEND reforms, supporting training and research as well as having a part in the implementation of our EP led literacy approach and EBSNA pathway. We are looking for individuals who are planning on a future career as Educational Psychologists. As an Assistant Educational Psychologist, you would have an important role in working alongside our EPs delivering evidence-based approaches. A comprehensive programme of induction, supervision and training will be provided offering preparation for the role and future steps towards training to be an Educational Psychologist. Key requirements We need motivated, enthusiastic, skilled, creative and successful individuals able to improve outcomes for children, young people and families through individual, group, and system level activity, and through research and project work. You must hold a first degree in psychology or post graduate equivalent, be able to demonstrate a range of experience working with children and young people and be a reflective practitioner, resilient, solution orientated, and an excellent communicator.
