PCB Layout Engineer Zuken CR8000 | Defence Electronics
Were looking for an experienced PCB Layout Engineer to work on high-reliability, safety-critical electronics within a leading UK defence organisation.
This role focuses on complex, multi-layer PCB designs supporting mission-critical products used by the UK Ministry of Defence.
Youll be hands-on from concept through to PCB manufacture, working closely with electronics, mechanical and manufacturing teams across multiple programmes.
What youll be working on
High-reliability, Class 3 / defence-grade PCB designs
Multi-layer, controlled-impedance boards
Designs driven by electrical, mechanical and environmental constraints
New product development and in-service support work
Your responsibilities
PCB layout using Zuken CR5000 / CR8000
Component placement, signal routing and design optimisation
Library management and design rule compliance
Peer reviews and contribution to design sign-off
Creation of full PCB manufacturing and release documentation
What were looking for
Strong, hands-on experience with PCB layout best practices
Good understanding of IPC standards for high-reliability products
Knowledge of PCB fabrication processes, materials and stack-ups
Confident communicator when working with engineers and stakeholders
Zuken CR5000 or CR8000 experience is essential
Location & travel
Regular travel to UK sites (project-driven, not weekly commuting)
On-site collaboration is part of the role due to hardware integration needs
