25 hours per week with opportunities for flexible additional hours. Job based in Seafield, West Lothian.
Candidate Profile
An autistic young non‑binary adult loves going out, spending time with animals, doing creative activities, music, and just having fun. Seeking a Personal Assistant to help with challenges from current health conditions and disabilities.
Responsibilities
Provide assistance with personal care, medication, getting around (including wheelchair use), light domestic care, and support for engagement in activities at home, in the community, and attending college one day a week.
Essential Qualities
* Driver with a valid clean driving licence
* Comfortable around pets/animals
* Hoist, medication, and moving & handling training preferred (but can be provided)
* Member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme or willing to join
* Proficiency in English communication skills
* Autism awareness, seizure training, catheter care, and understanding of disability desirable (but will be provided)
* Lived experience of neurodivergence or experience working with neurodivergent families preferred
We already have carers in the morning and night, so this role would cover the time in between.

The post will be offered upon completion of paid trial shift(s), confirmed at interview.

Hours / Days of Working
Monday – Friday, late morning to early evening. Tuesday may start later for college and finish later. Occasional weekend shifts. Opportunities to support on holidays available.
Rate of pay is £14.81 per hour.
