The Leisure Air Expert works closely with Kensington Tours’s sales team to facilitate all aspects of air travel for the Company’s clients. Kensington is a multi-award-winning premium and luxury tour operator offering tailor-made, private guided experiences to the world’s most extraordinary destinations. This role will be responsible for coordinating complex international air itineraries utilizing the company’s preferred airline suppliers to present the best air itineraries. The goal is to increase sales conversion for Kensington Tours land programs or air-only requests, involving direct communication with clients or their travel advisors.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Build leisure air itineraries (primarily for US-based customers) and pricing options via the company’s proprietary booking platform, and coordinate the clients' land/tour bookings to provide a seamless travel experience.
2. Manipulate complex international itineraries for the purpose of obtaining the best pricing options, utilizing published and net fare pricing options while considering commission opportunities and preferred supplier strategies.
3. Work directly with Kensington Tours’ customers (travelers) and/or their travel advisors.
4. Achieve monthly sales goals for air sales.
5. Process ticket requests and manage all schedule changes submitted by airlines, ensuring there is no disruption to the client’s tour itinerary.
6. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company’s airline contracts with preferred suppliers to ensure optimal utilization opportunities.
7. Utilize excellent customer service skills to resolve any issues with customers’ air travel arrangements.
8. Stay informed on all airline rules, regulations, and industry requirements, and accurately apply this information to airline reservations, communicating relevant details to clients.
Qualifications
1. 3+ years of leisure or luxury travel consultative sales experience.
2. 3+ years Sabre GDS experience.
3. Experience working with VIP/luxury clients, including first and business class air travel, is highly preferred.
4. Understanding that luxury requires an elevated client experience.
5. Proven ability to build relationships with clients and work collaboratively with a team.
6. Experience with Air Sales, airline contracts, refunds, exchanges, consolidators, international airline commissions, and net fare agreements.
7. Excellent knowledge of international airfare routings and worldwide geography.
8. Experience with US-originating air itineraries, ticketing, and fare rules is preferred.
9. Motivated to achieve sales targets and KPIs.
10. Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
11. Exceptional attention to detail.
12. Strong problem-solving skills, ability to think independently, and escalate issues as needed.
13. Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
14. TICO certification.
