Building Maintenance Engineer - Liverpool University - North West
Integral is seeking an experienced Fabric Engineer to join our Public Sector Team, supporting the Liverpool LIFT contract. The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of building services, a calm demeanor to foster trust with clients and team members, and hands-on experience relevant to day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities
1. Fault finding and rectification
2. Maintaining qualification levels
3. Supporting contract management and admin through the operations office, handling daily engineering and contract issues
4. Resolving persistent recall problems
5. Monitoring and recording engineering performance
6. Conducting quality control on reactive and PPM tasks
7. Communicating effectively with clients and end users
8. Adapting work hours to meet client and business needs
9. Responding to emergencies during and outside normal hours
10. Organizing and supervising subcontractor work
11. Conducting asset collections and condition surveys for the Contract Delivery Manager
12. Maintaining health and safety records and practices
13. Performing planned and reactive maintenance, including electrical building services, fault finding, testing, repair, and preventive tasks
14. Carrying out general building fabric maintenance tasks
15. Updating completed PPM tasks in the CAFM system
16. Adhering to QA and site procedures
17. Following health and safety protocols at all times
18. Maintaining accurate site documentation
19. Inspecting services and proactively managing call-outs and repairs
20. Attending emergencies and call-outs outside standard hours
21. Working in plant room environments and at heights, using platforms and ladders with provided PPE
22. Maintaining company tools safely and efficiently
23. Supporting the success of the contract proactively
24. Performing additional tasks as assigned by management within operational scope
Previous Experience and Qualifications
1. Experience in the Building Services Sector, preferably carpentry
2. NVQ/Apprenticeship or equivalent in the relevant trade
3. Full UK driving license
4. Knowledge of health and safety practices, COSHH, RIDDOR
5. Flexible work approach
6. Ability to meet deadlines and targets
