Job Title: Senior Warehouse Operative

Job Summary:
In this role, you will play a key part in the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods while maintaining high standards of accuracy and productivity. You will provide guidance and support to fellow warehouse operatives, assist with inventory management, and help ensure that all warehouse processes run smoothly to meet operational targets. You will also support the efficient running of our office locations, including replenishing stock, liaising with cleaning and maintenance contractors.

Key Responsibilities:
• Situational Leadership & Support: Assist in motivating and guiding warehouse operatives, ensuring tasks are carried out efficiently, best practices are followed, and company procedures are adhered to. Provide support to less experienced team members and help foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
• Inventory Management: Ensure accurate stock control by managing inbound and outbound stock, conducting regular stock checks, and helping with inventory reconciliation.
• Quality Control: Maintain a high standard of quality control across all warehouse operations, ensuring that products are handled and stored correctly.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Oversee warehouse safety and ensure all health and safety regulations are followed, including conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
• Training & Development: Provide on-the-job training and support to new and existing warehouse operatives, helping them to improve their skills and performance.
• Order Fulfilment: Ensure the timely picking, packing, and dispatch of orders, meeting customer deadlines and service level agreements (SLAs).
• Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in warehouse processes, workflows, and systems to enhance productivity and reduce errors.
• Equipment & Maintenance: Ensure that warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet trucks) is in good working condition and follow up with necessary maintenance and repairs.
• Reporting: Provide regular reports to management on key performance indicators (KPIs), including inventory accuracy, order fulfilment rates, and operational issues.
• Site Maintenance: Oversee the opening and closing procedures of the site, ensuring that security measures are followed, premises are secure, and all operations are ready for the day's work or safely secured at the end of shift. Support the efficient running of our office locations, including replenishing stock, liaising with cleaning and maintenance contractors.
• Security & Safety Checks: Conduct daily security and safety checks at the start and end of shifts, ensuring that all areas of the site are secure, fire exits are clear, and systems operational.
• First Aid Support: Act as the first aid point of contact within the warehouse. Administer first aid in the event of an injury or medical emergency. Ensure that first aid kits are well-stocked and up to date and assist in maintaining a safe working environment for all staff.
• Incident reporting: accurately document and report any workplace injuries or accidents in compliance with company procedures and legal requirements.
Essential:
• Experience: Proven experience (minimum of 2 years) in a similar role, with a strong understanding of warehouse and facilities operations
• Forklift Certification: Valid forklift certification and experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment - Fork Lift B1 Pivot Steer and Fork Lift B1 Counterbalance.
• Full Clean Driving Licence: a valid, full, and clean driving licence, with the ability to drive company vehicles when required. Experience in driving light delivery vehicles may be an advantage.
• Certificates: Emergency First Aid, Display Screen Equipment for Agile Workers, Fire Awareness, Manual Handling Awareness & Slips, Trips and Falls
Desirable:
• Telehandler Certification: Valid telehandler certification and experience operating telehandlers
