Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse or a highly organised professional with a similar medical background to join our team as Patient Flow Co‑ordinator. This key role works alongside clinical and non‑clinical staff to ensure the smooth running and effective flow of patients from admission to discharge, promoting staff morale and a positive culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as a culture leader, demonstrating awareness of and adherence to core values.
* Maintain a positive presence in the workplace.
* Liaise between the nursing team and all other teams to ensure effective lines of communication.
* Lead by example and demonstrate the highest professional standards.
* Support staff motivation and teamwork; provide encouragement and support to the veterinary team.
* Promote practice and group policies and guidelines applicable to all associates.
* Recognise when a team member requires assistance and act accordingly.
Clinical Responsibilities
* Liaise with all services to coordinate veterinary procedures and patient movements, ensuring all admission and treatment plans are completed efficiently and timely.
* Create systems for patient flow to improve efficiency, review and adjust as necessary.
* Encourage reporting of critical incidents via Halo.
* Identify problematic areas affecting patient flow and perform audits to identify improvement opportunities and training.
Desired Skills
* 3+ years in clinical veterinary practice.
* 1–2 years of experience in a multi‑disciplinary hospital.
* RCVS registered veterinary nurse.
* Effective communication with a large team.
* Quick learner, adaptable to a dynamic environment.
* Highly organised.
Required Qualifications
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Proficiency with word‑processing programs.
* Excellent time management, prioritisation and organisational skills.
* Remain calm under pressure and solve problems.
* Knowledge of Excel or other data sheets.
