Expro are currently recruiting a Wireless Operations Engineer to join their Wireless Wells Solutions (WWS) team. This position will be based in Ringwood, Hampshire, UK, with a requirement to travel to field locations internationally. The successful candidate will prepare, install, and commission all WWS products and services globally in full compliance with Expro standards and appropriate client/industry requirements.
Key Activities and Accountabilities
1. Install & Commission Equipment: Safely deploy WWS tools globally, ensuring accurate pressure and temperature data delivery to clients.
2. Manage Equipment Lifecycle: Oversee preparation, testing, packing, inventory, load-out, commissioning, and backload of all field equipment.
3. Support Project Planning: Assist with installation plans, risk assessments, FATs, SITs, and client interface testing during pre-mobilisation.
4. Ensure Compliance: Follow all Expro, client, and country-specific operational and safety protocols, including Management of Change (MOC).
5. Troubleshoot & Analyse: Resolve technical issues during SITs and field operations; interpret WWS data and escalate concerns as needed.
6. Document & Report: Maintain accurate records, complete end-of-well reports, and support investigations using Expro's E-TRAK system.
7. Inventory & Asset Control: Minimise wastage, maintain inventory accuracy, and report any lost or damaged equipment.
8. Client & Team Communication: Provide regular updates to Project Managers and maintain professional relationships with client representatives.
9. Mentor & Train: Support the development of junior engineers and contribute to training initiatives and competency assessments.
10. Lead Engineering Trials: Manage field deployment of engineering trials and provide feedback to the Engineering and Operations teams.
Previous oilfield experience in a Cased Hole or Downhole discipline is preferable. A background in mechanical/electronic engineering principles relevant to the operation and installation of WWS equipment is required. Experience in managing small teams is preferable but not essential. Candidates comfortable working in different countries and multicultural environments are desirable. Hold appropriate medical and offshore survival certificates (training will be provided if required).
