Management Accountant
Location: Herefordshire – Hybrid working (office, site and home-based)
Salary: Up to £47,000

Our client, a leading public sector services organisation, is hiring a Management Accountant to deliver high-quality management accounting support across key service areas.
This role offers the opportunity to influence senior stakeholders, strengthen financial performance and drive continuous improvement across a complex and diverse organisation.
What you’ll do
Lead the provision of management accounting support for allocated service areas
Oversee monthly budget monitoring, forecasting and variance analysis
Coordinate annual budget setting and final accounts processes
Support and guide finance colleagues to ensure quality and deadline adherence
Prepare year-end audit papers and statutory/government returns
You’ll work closely with senior finance leaders, heads of service and budget holders to provide robust financial insight, challenge assumptions and promote a strong corporate approach to resource management.
What we’re looking for
Qualified or part-qualified accountant (or equivalent experience)
Strong background in management accounts and budget forecasting
Experience supporting or mentoring finance colleagues
Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
Strong technical knowledge of financial regulations and accounting practice
