Location based: Somerset.
Hours per week: 37.5.
Salary: £58,198.94 basic salary + Car / Car Allowance + up to 10% Bonus + Benefits.
Location options: Bridgwater, Evercreech, Williton or Yeovil.
Summary
Experienced Municipal Operations Manager within the recycling recovery industry, leading delivery of high‑performing municipal services, ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and outstanding customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
* Take strategic and operational ownership of the contract, ensuring full compliance with environmental legislation, health & safety standards, and fleet requirements.
* Oversee service delivery, use data to monitor performance, and build strong relationships with local authority partners and stakeholders.
* Lead and develop a high‑performing team, driving a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
* Full responsibility for contract profit & loss, budgeting, forecasting, procurement, and identifying opportunities for commercial growth and efficiency.
* Play a key role in workforce planning, employee relations, and engagement, fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive working environment, while maintaining positive relationships with recognised Trade Unions.
Qualifications
* Strong leadership capability, commercial awareness, and significant experience managing large, complex municipal or environmental service contracts (typically 5+ years).
* Commitment to sustainability, innovation, and customer focus.
* Desirable qualifications: degree or equivalent experience, NEBOSH/IOSH, CPC (or willingness to work towards).
* Full UK driving licence required.
