Applications are welcomed from individuals who have experience supporting adults with a learning disability working within a Health or social care services, supporting the assessment/ treatment and or overall wellbeing needs of individuals with a Learning disability, complex health needs and behaviours that may challenge, from admission to discharge.
The service supports Adults with a Learning Disability presenting with a variety of complex physical and additional support needs, with behaviours that may challenge. This service has an assessment and treatment unit( Mayfield), bespoke purpose built unit (Tayview) and a forensic low secure regional unit (Daleview).

This post involves working within the service; post holder will be expected to work across our inpatient services, all staff should be able to rotate where service priority/needs may be. You will work as part of the nursing team to support individuals during their inpatient stay.
The role involves many different aspect of care from targeted clinical duties (under supervision), to supporting individuals that may present with behaviours that may challenge, supporting individuals with personal care, supporting individuals to appointments in other areas, to support individuals in accessing the community to help build confidence within the community through initial inpatient admission through to discharge.
Ideally have excellent communication skills, to be able to work in partnership with individuals, their families, the wider multidisciplinary teams as well as other third sector agencies.
Evidence of Training in the SVQ programmes for Health Care Support Workers at level 3, or equivalent and/or experience in this role is desired but not essential, as in-house training will be given.
