We are looking for current UK Student Nurses and Midwives who are over 6 months into their studies to fill our Bank HCSW shifts.

A variety of shifts are available, covering both day and night duties in different wards and departments.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to grow our team of Bank Health Care Support Worker (HCSW’s). Working on our bank allows you the flexibility of a zero hours agreement, whilst allowing you to be part of one amazing team. We are looking for current UK Student Nurses or Midwives who are over 6 months into their studies to work Bank HCSW shifts. You will have a choice of preference when booking shifts but will need to be flexible and reallocated to meet the needs of the hospital and to support safe staffing levels.
The role of a Healthcare Support Worker provides direct patient care whilst working alongside a multidisciplinary team.
To excel in this role you will need to have:
* Evidence of current student nurse training
* Completed at least one placement at DCH/an Acute hospital setting.
* Have excellent communication skills and be able to work as part of a team.
* Have an eye for detail and be able to maintain accurate documentation.
* Be flexible and willing to work across a variety of wards within DCHFT.
Please note, to help you succeed in your studies, we would not support you working more than 48 hours per week (including placements and theory). This will be monitored to ensure a healthy work-life balance is maintained throughout your education.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Essential criteria
* Evidence of Secondary Education including English and Maths up to Level 1 or equivalent
Desirable criteria
* Level 2 vocational qualification in health and social care (or willing to complete) or equivalent relevant experience.
SKILLS & ABILITIES

* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (to understand and be understood)
* Ability to follow clear instruction and feed back to senior staff.

* IT literate
