Job Description:
Import Shipping Operations
Our client is a UK Freight Forwarder offering worldwide services and has been established for nearly 50 years. They are currently looking for an Import operations co-ordinatorto work at their Kent office.
The role will be a full time permanent position and will involve managing the Import process form start to finish.
Duties will include:
· Deep Sea Ocean and Road Freight Imports from mainly the USA, the Far East & India
· Import custom clearance entries (CNS, Destin8)
· Good negotiation and communication skills
· Invoicing including Import, Duty and VAT
· Arranging deliveries with shipping lines and Haulage companies
· Experience with MS Office applications
· Coordinate and oversee the end-to-end Import process from receiving orders or bookings to final delivery, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations and company policies
· Liaise with International suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines and other stakeholders to arrange timely and cost-effective transportation of goods
· Ensure customers are kept up to date with statuses and ETA’s
· Provide excellent customer services to Customers, Agents and Vendors to achieve customer satisfaction
· Ensure all files are correctly entered into the company system, accurately invoiced and all costs added to jobs accordingly
· Knowledge of shipping terms, incoterms and trade compliance regulations
· Able to use Import related software, databases & computer systems i.e. CNS/Destin8/Decartes-CDS.
· Excellent communication skills and can prioritise own workload
Requirements
Must have freight forwarding experience and be enthusiastic and proactive.
