🔌 Principal Electrical Engineer

We’re looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer to take a key role in delivering high-impact electrical projects within the nuclear sector, specifically supporting Nuclear programmes. Working within a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team, you’ll deliver complex design work and drive technical excellence across major UK infrastructure projects.
What You’ll Be Doing
 * Deliver the electrical scope - manage schedules, reporting and change control
 * Provide technical direction and approval of design documentation, including power system studies, equipment specs, load schedules, and schematics
 * Prepare and review technical documentation and procurement for HV/LV equipment including transformers, UPS systems, motors, lighting, and more
 * Lead on installation scopes, supplier engagement, and technical bid assessments
 * Ensure compliance with UK and international legislation, codes, and standards
 * Perform or support specialist studies: HV power modelling, protection studies, DNO liaison, ageing/obsolescence reviews
 * Collaborate with site teams on operational support and troubleshooting
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications
 * Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Control Engineering
 * Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (or actively working towards)
Experience
 * 15+ years’ experience in electrical engineering, ideally in nuclear or similar regulated sectors
 * Expert knowledge of UK legislation, standards, and CE/ATEX/EMC compliance
 * Proven record of delivering design and installation projects
 * Experience working in potentially explosive environments
