The role As a Senior Identity Engineer, you will be a hands‑on technical contributor with responsibility for leading by example across the design, build and improvement of enterprise identity and access management (IAM) services. This is a senior technical role where you will spend time engineering solutions directly, while also acting as a technical lead for more complex work, supporting design decisions, unblocking others and raising the overall quality and maturity of identity engineering across the team. You will work closely with architecture, infrastructure and application teams, shaping and delivering secure, scalable identity integrations using Saviynt and Microsoft Entra ID, and supporting broader platform maturity across Standard Life. Key Responsibilities: Design and hands‑on implementation of enterprise‑wide IAM solutions. Lead by example on complex application onboarding and identity integrations, owning the most challenging technical work. Build, enhance and maintain workflows, connectors and automation supporting identity lifecycle processes. Configure, optimise and troubleshoot IAM platforms, particularly Saviynt and Microsoft Entra ID. Act as a senior technical escalation point, diagnosing complex issues and driving sustainable fixes. Provide day‑to‑day technical leadership, supporting design reviews, implementation approaches and engineering standards. Work closely with architecture and security teams to ensure identity solutions meet strategic, regulatory and security expectations. Contribute to identity governance standards, patterns and technical documentation. Support audit and regulatory activity through strong technical controls and clear evidence. Mentor and coach engineers through hands‑on support, knowledge sharing and constructive challenge. What are we looking for? Essential: Strong hands‑on experience engineering IAM solutions in complex enterprise environments. Deep understanding of authentication, access governance and identity lifecycle management. Practical, hands‑on experience with Saviynt and Microsoft Entra ID (or equivalent product sets). Proven ability to operate as a senior technical lead while remaining delivery‑focused. Strong troubleshooting skills and experience owning complex technical problems end‑to‑end. Awareness of regulatory and compliance standards (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, ISF Standard of Good Practice). Nice to have: Experience with CyberArk or other PAM platforms. Experience contributing to engineering standards or reusable technical patterns.
