Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant passionate about supporting children with special educational needs in a mainstream Year 1 classroom? We're seeking a Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing, inclusive primary school where children are at the heart of everything we do. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who require tailored support to access the curriculum and thrive socially and emotionally.
Role Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs in Year 1.
* Support children with a range of needs including autism, speech and language delays, and sensory processing differences.
* Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt lessons and deliver targeted interventions.
* Contribute to a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
* Build strong relationships with children, families, and professionals to ensure consistent and effective support.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* A Level 3 qualification in Teaching Assistance, Childcare, or equivalent (essential).
* Experience working with children with SEND, ideally within a Key Stage 1 setting.
* A calm, nurturing, and proactive approach to supporting behaviour and emotional regulation.
* Knowledge of the National Curriculum and differentiation strategies.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
