Rapid7 Cybersecurity Advisors partner with customers on vulnerability management, application security, and threat detection and incident response. You will work with customers to increase their resilience against threats through tailored mitigation recommendations, proactive threat awareness reporting, and regular discussions about IT security initiatives and best practices.

Rapid7’s Managed Services provide world-class, 24/7/365 threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and application security services. As a member of the Cybersecurity Advisor team, you will be on the front-lines helping clients defend against and respond to threats.
About the Role
As a Cybersecurity Advisor II, your primary responsibility will be to act as a key trusted advocate for our customers. Your experience and understanding of the security landscape will be pivotal in shaping the customer perception of Managed Services. Cybersecurity Advisors are responsible for leveraging their technical knowledge to guide customers in the successful usage of security product features and enhancements, and for positively impacting the overall success and maturity of customers’ security programs.
Specifically, your focus will be to:
1. Ensure that the Rapid7 Platform technology is functional, and coordinate with the Managed Services and Support teams when needed.
2. Work closely with Analysts and Scan Operators to convey recommendations to Rapid7 customers.
3. Review and generate high-quality, accurate, and contextual customer deliverables for complex technical accounts.
4. Provide subject matter expertise and advisement to clients for industry attack trends and defenses.
5. Demonstrate an expert understanding of our products' value-drivers and the ability to help customers navigate and optimize their usage.
6. Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting advisory relationships with key stakeholders.
7. Guide clients through findings and provide subject matter expertise for response activities.
8. Provide expertise in technology deployment and client onboarding processes.
9. Gather client input and requirements to influence the Managed Services service roadmap.
10. Assist Managed Services Leadership with effective scaling strategies.
11. Independently identify potential risks and challenges in customer relationships and work proactively to address them.
The skills and qualities you’ll bring include:
12. Associates Degree in Information Technology, or two or more years of related experience.
13. 3-4 years of experience in Information Security or a related discipline.
14. Industry-related certifications (e.g., A+, Network+, Sec+, Cloud+, CCSP).
15. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
16. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
17. Information Security consulting experience.
18. Prior technology deployment and configuration experience.
19. Experience with security frameworks and concepts.
20. Strong project management and prioritization abilities.
21. Prior experience in managed or enterprise information security services, vulnerability management, incident response, forensics, malware analysis, penetration testing, or network defense.
22. Strong understanding of technical concepts and experience advising customers on platform usage for a faster Return on Investment (ROI).
23. Problem-solving mentality with the ability to navigate complex situations.
