ABP Kingswinford is part of the ABP UK division within the ABP Food Group aiming to provide quality lamb to thousands of customers across the world.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Packing Supervisor in our Boning Hall at our Kingswinford site. Working Monday to Friday 6:00 am 4:00 pm (a degree of flexibility is required).
You will has proven experience working in a similar role and will ensure the efficient and costeffective running of the Boning Hall whilst ensuring that food safety and quality management requirements are adhered to and attained at all times.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Supervise operatives to ensure that each product is boned and packed according to ABP and Customer specifications.
* Supervise operatives to monitor and ensure they work to the best of their ability to meet production deadlines as well as maximizing yield and minimizing waste.
* To direct operatives and ensure that all procedures undertaken by them are carried out in a correct and safe manner whilst following safe working procedures at all times.
* To ensure continuous improvements in efficiency and complete all documentation as required by the Boning Hall Manager.
* To maintain a first rate communication system to ensure a highly motivated team
* To ensure that all production requirements are met as per instructions from the Boning Hall Manager
* To ensure that agreed throughput and specific targets are met e.g. weight parameters, number of leakers etc.
* To ensure that relevant systems are updated and maintained and any variances from plan are communicated.
* To identify training needs and opportunities for all team members
* To ensure the most effective/efficient utilization of department resources, labour and machinery.
* To demonstrate task skills to operatives and provide skills mentoring to operatives to assist in their role development
* To ensure that all tasks are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures, particularly with regard to health and safety and food safety.
* To ensure that where PPE is provided to staff, that this is correctly worn/used, maintained and any defects reported to the relevant key colleagues.
* Hygiene - To ensure best practice is adopted at all times in your department for control of staff, product and environmental hygiene.
* To ensure that you and your staff comply with the Company Health and Safety policy at all times
* Carry out annual appraisals.
* Conduct return to work meetings with any team member who has been absent from work
* Attendance at training and development courses relevant to the role as required
* Any other duties as necessary
Knowledge & Experience
* The successful candidate should have experience of working in a fast paced and busy production factory environment
* Experience of managing or supervising people would be beneficial
* Proactive, dynamic and motivational with the ability to deliver results in a fast paced, pressurised environment
