227518 - Clinical Psychologist MH&LD role at NHS Scotland. The post holder will provide highly specialist neuropsychological assessment and intervention as part of the Neuropsychology Service in NHS Lanarkshire. Based at University Hospital Monklands, with clinics in North and South Lanarkshire. Working under the Clinical Lead for Neuropsychology, the post-holder will undertake neuropsychological assessment and intervention with patients with organic and functional neurological disorders and provide consultation to medical, nursing and rehabilitation staff.
Responsibilities
* Provide highly specialist neuropsychological assessment and intervention as part of the Neuropsychology Service in NHS Lanarkshire.
* Undertake neuropsychological assessment with patients with organic and functional neurological disorders.
* Provide consultation to medical, nursing and rehabilitation staff.
* Engage in supervised clinical experience in neuropsychology (e.g., placements during training or post-qualification roles) as required.
* Demonstrate specialist knowledge and experience with organic and functional neurological conditions (e.g., brain injury, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, non-epileptic seizures).
* Identify and participate in relevant training and professional development, including supervision of applied psychologists where appropriate.
* Lead on projects or support senior psychologists in managing their remit within the Service.
* Organise and prioritise workload, including supervision of junior staff or trainees, as applicable.
* Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation, clinical standards/guidelines, and local/national policies and guidelines.
* Maintain driving licence as required for the role.
Qualifications and Experience
* Post-graduate Doctoral Level (or equivalent) degree in Clinical Psychology and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Registered Clinical Psychologist.
* Post-qualification clinical experience in neuropsychology and/or rehabilitation settings.
* Significant experience working with individuals and families or carers with complex neurological, cognitive, physical and mental health difficulties.
* Experience in teaching, supervision and consultation with other allied health professionals in neurological and rehabilitation settings.
* Ability to undertake formative and summative clinical assessments and produce reports interpreting findings.
* Evidence of formal supervision training for applied psychologists (or equivalent).
* Knowledge of current clinical standards/guidelines and local and national policies.
* Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively within a multi-professional/multi-agency service and wider systems (consultation, liaison and negotiation).
* Experience leading projects or supporting senior psychologists in service management.
Desirable
* Completion of MSc/PG Dip in Clinical Neuropsychology (advantageous but not essential).
* Post-qualification experience working with older people and supervisory experience.
* Post-qualification experience in neuropsychological evaluation.
* Knowledge of government legislation and policy relevant to older people and functional mental health issues in later life.
* Ability to organise workload for others and work autonomously.
