Job Opportunity: Accounts Assistant
We are supporting a rapidly growing startup based in Milton Keynes, seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their high-performing team. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a dynamic business experiencing year-on-year growth.
Responsibilities include:
1. Managing the purchase ledger, including processing invoices.
2. Checking invoices against data stored in Excel to ensure amounts are correct.
3. Liaising with the wider business to resolve any discrepancies.
4. Ensuring timely payment processing.
5. Responding promptly to finance enquiries.
6. Providing ad-hoc analysis as needed.
7. Reconciling purchase ledger accounts and following up on overpayments.
8. Ensuring invoices are authorized appropriately.
9. Processing invoices using Xero accounting software.
10. Ensuring payments are made on time.
11. Reconciling accounts regularly.
12. Processing monthly payroll for approximately 30 employees.
13. Investigating and responding to payroll queries.
14. Reconciling payroll with HMRC gateway.
15. Posting daily payments in Xero.
16. Assisting with audit queries related to transactional processing.
Qualifications and Skills:
* An AAT Level 2 qualification or equivalent experience.
* Prior experience in purchase ledger or as an accounts assistant.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively communicating with non-accountants.
* Experience in the healthcare sector is preferred but not essential.
This is a hybrid role requiring 4 days per week in the office.
