Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a cohort of CBT Trainees who will complete a full‑time PG Diploma in High‑Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy over one academic year. Successful completion will lead to a substantive Band 7 role as a qualified CBT therapist.
Responsibilities
* Undertake postgraduate training in CBT at Master’s level, integrating academic learning with clinical practice.
* Conduct clinical assessments and deliver evidence‑based, NICE‑compliant CBT interventions to patients with anxiety, depression, PTSD and other common mental health difficulties.
* Provide 20 attended clinical contacts per week in line with national requirements.
* Work within a supportive supervision framework, receiving regular clinical supervision and line management support.
* Meet key performance indicators set by the service, including clinical outcomes and caseload management.
* Integrate learning and clinical work using the digital platform SilverCloud and other e‑therapy tools.
Qualifications
* Undergraduate degree or equivalent overseas qualification.
* Core mental health practitioner qualification or a Knowledge, Skills & Attitudes (KSA) entry route portfolio.
* Two or more years of relevant mental‑health work experience for PWPs; four or more years for other KSA candidates.
* Good understanding of evidence‑based psychological therapies and NICE guidelines.
* Ability to develop therapeutic relationships and manage own caseload and time.

* Experience working in mental‑health services with a demonstrated ability to meet agreed targets.
* Experience in a service where clinical outcomes are monitored and reported.

* Strong therapeutic skills and relationship building.
* Capacity to evaluate the impact of training and make improvements.
Person Specification – Knowledge
* Knowledge of mental‑health issues and their impact on individuals.
* Understanding of medications used in anxiety and depression.
* Understanding of the need for evidence‑based psychological therapies.
