As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Cloud Foundational Services in Infrastructure Platform, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
1. Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
2. Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
3. Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
4. Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
5. Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
6. Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
7. Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
8. Proven experience in software engineering
9. Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
10. Proficient in coding in multiple languages with strong understanding of core development concepts including object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
11. Demonstrated experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or private jpmc) including cloud-native services, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud infrastructure management
12. Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
13. Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
14. Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
15. Strong grasp of software engineering fundamentals including version control, testing methodologies, code review practices, and debugging techniques
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
16. Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
17. Ability to quickly adapt to and work effectively across different programming languages and technology stacks as business needs evolve
18. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and cloud automation tools
19. Knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems design patterns
20. Exposure to artificial intelligence, machine learning, or other emerging technologies
