Quokka Education is working in partnership with a Outstanding SEN school near Eastleigh, Hampshire, who are looking for a compassionate and skilled 1 to 1 Learning Support Assistant to join their literacy intervention team. This is a full-time position, to start as soon as possible.
The Role
You’ll deliver focused 1:1 literacy support to pupils in Key Stage 2 (primary phase) -helping them improve reading, writing, and comprehension skills while building trust and self-esteem.
Experience supporting primary-aged pupils and those with SEND is essential.
ELSA training (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) would be a great advantage, but above all, the school are looking for someone warm-hearted, patient, and positive.
This is a full-time position for someone who believes every child deserves to feel seen, supported, and capable.
The School
This Outstanding special school supports boys aged 10–16 with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) for Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Many pupils also have additional diagnoses such as Autism, ADHD, attachment difficulties, and dyslexia.
The school follows the National Curriculum, with a strong focus on practical learning and enrichment - from sailing, cycling, and canoeing to climbing, sport, and creative workshops with visiting artists, theatre companies, and authors.

* Role: 1:1 KS2 Learning Support Assistant
* Start: Immediate
* Contract: 12-week temp-to-perm opportunity – Weekly pay
* Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday)
* Pay: £18,515 pro rata / £95 per day
