Salary and Hours: This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. The salary for this role is £12-£15 per hour, dependent on experience and qualifications. Do you have experience working with students with Autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and those exhibiting challenging behaviours? As a full-time Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs, including Autism, SEMH, and challenging behaviour, throughout their educational journey. Your primary responsibility will be to provide one-on-one or small group support to students both in and out of the classroom environment, helping to facilitate their learning and personal development. Key Responsibilities: • Provide individualised support to students with Autism, SEMH, and challenging behaviour, ensuring their educational and emotional needs are met effectively. • Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering tailored lessons and activities that cater to the diverse needs of students. • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported, valued, and respected. • Implement behaviour management strategies and techniques to address challenging behaviour’s and promote positive behaviour choices. • Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCO, and other support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans and interventions for students. • Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to the teaching team and contributing to the ongoing assessment and evaluation process. Requirements: • Previous experience working with students with Autism, SEMH, and challenging behaviour in an educational setting, residential care, or similar environment. • Strong understanding of behavioural management strategies and techniques, with the ability to effectively implement them in a school setting. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers. • Patience, empathy, and resilience to support students facing complex challenges and overcome barriers to learning. • Flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and independently when required. • A commitment to professional development and continuous learning, with a willingness to undertake relevant training and qualifications as required.
