Job description As part of delivering GIAA's People and Culture and workforce strategies, the Senior People Casework and Organisational Development (OD) Partner plays a pivotal role within the People Team in the Corporate Services Directorate. You will lead on complex, high-risk employee relations casework and deliver people-focused initiatives that support organisational development and business priorities. Acting as a subject matter expert in employee relations, you will provide pragmatic, legally sound advice to senior leaders, balancing policy and commercial priorities to deliver effective outcomes. You will lead key people initiatives, including policy development and culture change, while building organisational capability through coaching, quality assurance of casework, and insight-led interventions. The role also includes line management of a People Operations Advisor and supporting the delivery of a high-performing, resilient People function. This role will operate on a rotational basis within the People and Culture structure, working in close partnership with the Grade 7 Senior People Operations Manager. Both roles will provide reciprocal cover and flexible support to ensure effective delivery across the function in response to changing business priorities and demand. Role responsibilities Leading the oversight of potential high-risk, complex and sensitive people casework, through a triage system. Ensuring timely, fair and proportionate resolution across areas such as disciplinary, grievance, performance and attendance. Providing expert advice on the application of HR policy and employment legislation, ensuring decisions are legally sound and aligned with organisational priorities. Assuring the quality and consistency of casework delivered by HR colleagues, offering coaching and guidance to strengthen capability and confidence. Analysing casework trends and emerging risks, working with senior leaders to implement preventative and corrective interventions. Set direction and oversee delivery of the suite of HR policy process and guidance modernisation. Supporting and delivering people-related initiatives, including policy implementation, process improvement and culture change activity. Applying structured approaches to ensure delivery is timely, high-quality and aligned to strategic and operational priorities. Developing and maintaining clear documentation, including plans, risk logs and progress updates for senior stakeholders. Balancing delivery across casework, priority initiatives and business partnering, ensuring priorities are effectively managed. Contributing to wider organisational change programmes, ensuring people impacts are anticipated and appropriately managed. Providing leadership and oversight through the people management, supporting development and performance across a geographically dispersed team. Person specification Person specification Significant experience leading complex and sensitive HR casework and investigations, often involving serious allegations, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines. Strong working knowledge of UK employment law, legislation and employee relations practice, with the ability to apply this in a practical and risk-based way. Proven experience operating at a senior HR advisory or business partnering level, providing expert guidance across a broad range of people matters, policies and processes. Experience of leading or delivering people-related initiatives or organisational change activity, with the ability to anticipate risks and apply sound professional judgement. Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, challenge and support senior leaders to drive best practice and ensure compliance. Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and insights to inform decision-making and improve outcomes.
