Undergraduate - Performance Monitoring Team

Your responsibilities
We are looking for someone to join us on a 48-52 week placement, with the start date being flexible from June 2026 onwards.
* You will support the team with thermodynamic modelling and data analysis to drive Power Plants improvements.
* You will support in deploying the Performance Monitoring Process to our Power Plants.
* You will support teams we interface with, to understand and use our data.
* You will drive small improvement projects, within the team and in interface with other teams in Uniper.
* Ability to travel between Uniper sites throughout the UK and, on occasion, international travel.
Your profile
Essential
* Currently studying/working towards a degree with a strong mathematical base i.e. engineering, physics or similar.
* Knowledge about data analysis algorithms and how to apply them to complex data systems.
* Structured working style: understand the value of clear reporting, presentation and planning, comfortable and proactive to engage with stakeholders.
* Comfortable to question the status-quo: do you see inefficiencies in the team? Can we do things better? You are comfortable to speak up!
* You are available to come in the office to meet the team when required (e.g. 1-2 days a week).
Desirable:
* Modelling or programming (e.g. Python) skills.
* Understanding of thermodynamics and heat transfer.
* Basic knowledge of energy conversion system: CCGT, Hydro, Battery, CO2 capture.
* Operational Excellence mindset: client focus, think how processes could be improved, performance KPI driven.
* Ability to speak German would be advantageous but not required.
