A vibrant and inclusive primary school in the CF3 area of Cardiff is seeking an energetic and positive Teaching Assistant with a passion for sport and physical activity to inspire young learners and promote an active, healthy lifestyle across the school. About the Role: You’ll support teachers in the classroom while also delivering or assisting with physical education (PE), outdoor learning, and break-time activities. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to help shape their development through sport, teamwork, and positive role modelling. Key Responsibilities: Support classroom learning across various subjects, especially PE and outdoor sessions Lead or assist with sports activities during PE lessons, lunch, and break times Promote physical activity, teamwork, and healthy habits Support children with varying needs, including those with ALN (Additional Learning Needs) Help prepare classroom resources and maintain a positive learning environment ✅ The Ideal Candidate: Experience coaching or leading sports activities with children or young people A proactive, approachable and enthusiastic attitude Strong communication and behaviour management skills A passion for supporting the physical and emotional wellbeing of pupils A valid enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) Desirable (but not essential): Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification Coaching qualifications (e.g. FA Level 1/2, UKCC, etc.) Experience working in a primary school or educational setting First Aid or Safeguarding training Welsh language skills are a bonus but not required What We Offer: A supportive school community that values physical wellbeing The chance to make a real difference through sport and learning Ongoing training and professional development A well-located school with good transport links in the CF3 area All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
