Overview
Full-time vacancy at Woking Community Mental Health Recovery Service for a Development post for a qualified mental health nurse working in the community. This post would suit a newly qualified registrant or a mental health nurse moving from inpatient care to the community. The post can lead to a band 6 post within the formal development structure.
Responsibilities
* Work within a multi-disciplinary team alongside other Community Psychiatric Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Psychology Assistants and Psychiatrists and community support workers. The post holders will have the opportunity to be a care coordinator holding their own caseload.
* Undertake assessments, including risk assessments. Co-facilitate therapeutic groups. Work with structured clinical management for a recovery focus.
* Offer initial assessments to clients referred to the service and support individuals in mental health in the community. Manage a caseload and deliver a high-quality service, working both independently and as part of a well-established, recovery-focused team.
* Hold professional responsibility for a number of service users. Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Participate in training opportunities to build skills in the delivery of low intensity psychological interventions.
* Maintain a high level of commitment, motivation and knowledge of working with people with severe and enduring mental health problems.
* Ensure effective time management to meet the needs of your caseload and the team.
* Which includes offering initial assessments to clients referred to the service and supporting individuals in mental health in the community. Driving licence and access to a vehicle are required due to community element.
Qualifications and requirements
* Full and valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes due to the community element of the role.
* Qualified mental health nurse (RMN) with eligibility to practice in the UK.
* Ability to work in community settings with people with severe and enduring mental health problems.
* Excellent communication and personal skills; good time management; ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
