Job description

At McLaren, our mission is to set the standard for high performance in sport. Everyone in the team has a role to play. If you want to test your ideas with the world watching, measure your progress in milliseconds, and contribute to racing history, you belong here. High performance starts with you.

Purpose of the Role:

To provide car parts support, maintain and improve the TPC logistics stock and lifing functions both electronically and physically, to enable effective running of the TPC programme. This includes stock control, build and kitting practices, servicing routines, and ensuring components and assemblies are fit for use. You will deliver stock and parts logistics programs supporting events at and away from the McLaren Technology Centre (MTC).

Role Dimensions:

This position involves unsociable hours, significant weekend work, event attendance, and overseas travel. You will work closely with the TPC Project Management team to ensure availability of parts and spares aligned with the TPC event schedule. Responsibilities include coordinating component servicing, kitting, lifing, logistics, and stock control within designated areas. At events, you may also support other on- and off-car activities as needed, as directed by the TPC build manager. A strong understanding of car component stock management in a Formula One environment is essential, including archiving components at the end of their use. Support outside the TPC programme, such as current F1 activities and Heritage, may occasionally be required.

Principal Accountabilities:

* Ensure correct transaction, service requirements, and routing of components to guarantee they are shipped and fit for purpose for each event, and allocated accordingly.
* Manage TPC stock control and parts supply for events or builds.
* Ensure post-event service returns and compliance with the Lifing Program.
* Manage stock issues appropriately.
* Liaise with the TPC Project Management team regarding shortages.
* Promote adherence to processes and procedures, working with the race logistics manager to align with current F1 activities.
* Participate in continuous improvement activities within the department and wider business.
* Support TPC build functions by kitting components for build.
* Handle packing and unpacking shipments to and from events, adhering to strict deadlines.
* Archive parts at end of use, following current car and Heritage program processes.

* Extensive knowledge of Formula One race car components and assemblies.
* Experience in a motorsport team environment.
* Experience managing complex motorsport parts on demanding timescales.
