Riverwalk School is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant who is motivated and friendly, with a passion for improving outcomes and life experiences for our pupils in the school with SLD and PMLD needs. As part of a class-based team you will need to be committed, passionate and creative as well as resilient with a significant sense of fun. Play is an important part of the therapeutic approach. Your role is to facilitate access to learning for SEND pupils across the school. You will support teaching and learning, working with small groups and one-to-one as required. This is a challenging role but incredibly rewarding as part of a team which works together to make a real difference to the lives of our children with SEND and complex behavioural needs.
You will:
* have some knowledge about SEND
* be passionate about ensuring the highest quality learning for children with complex needs and severe learning difficulties
* provide a good role model for students and fellow colleagues
* be prepared to use a range of strategies to support a diverse range of complex needs
* have strong interpersonal skills and innovative techniques are essential
* support each pupil to access a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum differentiated to meet individual needs
* support tasks relating to 'real life' experiences
* be passionate about supporting learning characteristics in pupils
* be able to adhere to policies and procedures and follow GDPR guidelines
* be able to maintain confidentiality
* have a desire to participate in school and trust CPD opportunities
* have an awareness of Safeguarding
* have a willingness to contribute to the wider school through our curriculum enrichment and extended school offer.

Qualifications:
* SEND Experience (preferable)
* Grade C/4+ Mathematics and English
* Good level of computer literacy.
