We are excited to announce that we are looking for a Production Manager for our Swindon based client on a permanent basis.
Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, as the Production Manager, you will play a pivotal role as you are responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a commercial laundry facility. This role ensures high productivity, quality control, safety, and efficient workflow throughout the production process. The manager leads and coordinates the production team to meet service standards and client expectations while optimising performance and cost-effectiveness.
Working Hours: 8am to 5pm with a 1 hour lunch
Key Responsibilities:
Production Management
* Plan, coordinate, and supervise the daily production schedule to meet delivery deadlines.
* Monitor throughput, quality, and efficiency across all laundry processes (washing, drying, finishing, packing).
* Analyze workflow and adjust resources to maximize output and minimize downtime.
Team Leadership & Development:
* Supervise, train, and motivate operational staff, including shift managers, shift supervisors and operatives.
* Schedule shifts and allocate tasks to maintain optimal staffing and workflow.
* Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
* Ensure all work meets hygiene, quality, and client-specific standards.
* Implement and monitor quality control procedures throughout the production cycle.
* Enforce compliance with health and safety regulations and internal policies.
Operational Efficiency:
* Monitor equipment performance, coordinate with maintenance for timely repairs and servicing.
* Manage inventory levels of chemicals, linens, and other consumables.
* Identify and implement process improvements to boost productivity and reduce costs.
Reporting & Communication:
* Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including productivity, rewash rates, and downtime.
* Collaborate with customer service and logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
* Conduct daily production meetings and communicate goals, performance updates, and feedback to staff.
Skills / Experience Required:
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills
* Proven leadership and team-building abilities Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Proficient with production management systems and Google Suite
* Minimum 3 years of experience in a laundry production or manufacturing environment.
* At least 1–2 years in a supervisory or management role.
* Strong knowledge of industrial laundry equipment and production processes.
* Familiarity with safety, infection control, and quality assurance standards.
The ideal candidate will have a good amount of experience working in a similar role. Have a high level of attention to detail, good IT skills and excellent communication skills.
