Help Deliver One of the UK’s Largest Industrial Transformations We are currently delivering one of the UK’s most ambitious industrial transitions – Project Invictus – a £1.25 billion transformation of our steelmaking operations through the construction of a new electric arc furnace (EAF) and other key equipment at our Port Talbot site. Spending over £400m this year alone on capital equipment we need to begin taking delivery of thousands of items from December 2025. We are looking for an experienced specialist Logistics Project Manager to shape the way we execute and control vital new equipment arriving on one of the largest construction projects in the country. What you will do As the Logistics Project Manager, you’ll develop and oversee the entire logistics plan for Project Invictus – from early strategy through to on-site execution and support. You’ll be part of the team responsible for supplier coordination, site logistics, including vehicle movements, contractor access, laydown areas, and lifting operations. Your key responsibilities will include: Developing and managing the logistics strategy for the safe receipt of all OEM equipment arriving in Port Talbot for ‘Project Invictus’ Supporting the logistics team and the safe delivery of construction work packages Setting up agreements with contractors and transport/logistics providers working with procurement department Coordinating with the appointed main contractor charged with the construction phase to avoid site bottlenecks Monitoring site safety, traffic flow, laydown area use and storage management Ensuring alignment with construction planning and scheduling Supporting the development of logistics KPIs and reporting tools Interfacing with procurement, delivery, warehousing, and compliance functions Liasing with equipment OEMs for delivery planning and problem solving You’ll report into the Head of Stores and will be part of a leadership team responsible for ensuring on-time, efficient and safe delivery of capital equipment to site. What you will need We’re looking for a specialist logistics leader with excellent organisational and people management skills. You should have experience managing logistics on major projects, ideally moving machinery in a military, construction, infrastructure or heavy industrial environment You’ll need: Proven experience in project management involving moving equipment s in a time-bound complex setting Experience in leading and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams Ability to problem solve in a time-bound environment Strong communication skills A strong understanding of site safety, load security, permit to work systems, and CDM regulations Confidence in engaging with contractors, suppliers and senior stakeholders Strategic thinking, with the ability to turn plans into execution Experience with major capital programmes, large-scale construction, military or heavy industrial projects would be a significant advantage.
