Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - Secondary School (SEMH Focus)
Location: Southampton
Pay: £13.75 per hour - Term Time Only
Hours: Full Time, 8:00-4:00 (variable start/finish times)
Contract: Ongoing with potential for permanent role
The Role
* Work on a one-to-one and small group basis with pupils who have SEMH needs.
* Support pupils with managing emotions, behaviour, and developing positive relationships.
* Assist with adapting learning to meet individual needs.
* Collaborate closely with teachers and pastoral staff to provide a safe and supportive environment.
Requirements
* Previous experience working with children or young adults who struggle with emotional regulation and building relationships is essential.
* Ability to drive is highly desirable.
* Must have a clear DBS or be willing to apply for one.
* Ideally, you will have recent safeguarding and child protection training (completed within the last year).
* Availability between 8:00-4:00 (hours may vary slightly day-to-day).
* Passion, patience, and resilience when working with young people facing emotional challenges.
