Lead Operations Manager - Events & Performance Excellence
Our esteemed venue, set amidst the captivating Berkshire countryside, offers a unique and inviting atmosphere. With a rich history and an enchanting Grade II listed Victorian mansion, we host a variety of events, including conferences, meetings, training workshops, and memorable weddings. Our elegant wedding pavilion, stunning stained-glass window, and graceful Downshire ballroom create an idyllic backdrop for unforgettable celebrations, as well as our King Suite, the largest event space in Berkshire catering up to 500 guests.
We are seeking a dynamic Operational Assistant Wedding and Events Manager to run weddings and events in our stunning hotel. You will need positive energy, excellent communication skills, a passion for service excellence, and be of immaculate presentation.
PLEASE NOTE: This is an operational role which often includes late nights and weekends when you are running a wedding or event. It can be physically demanding and is not an office-based administrative role.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Operating all conferencing, weddings, and banqueting on site.
2. Organising and conducting training in line with brand standards.
3. Assisting with leading the conference and banqueting team in delivering a first-class service at all events.
4. The set up and tear down of all event rooms in line with function requirements.
5. Meeting and greeting clients to build and develop lasting relationships.
6. Working in line with the sales team to ensure a smooth transition from enquiry to departure.
Skills/Experience
1. Excellent maths and English skills.
2. Background in hotel, hospitality, or weddings.
3. Assistant Manager or Supervisory experience.
4. Knowledge of Opera is preferred but not essential.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
6. Excellent written and oral communication skills; confident and articulate.
7. Creative mindset; originality and new ideas highly valued.
8. Eye for design with high attention to detail.
9. Well-organised and well-presented, in keeping with client expectations in a four-star hotel.
