GSL Education are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Geography Teacher to join a supportive school in Barnsley. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated teacher to engage students, develop their understanding of the world, and make Geography both interesting and accessible.
As a Geography Teacher, you will deliver high-quality lessons, support students of all abilities, and work closely with colleagues to ensure every pupil reaches their full potential. The successful candidate will be confident, organised, and committed to creating a positive and engaging learning environment.
Prime Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging Geography lessons
* Support students’ learning both individually and in groups
* Encourage understanding of physical and human geography
* Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
* Promote positive behaviour and student engagement
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop teaching resources
* Contribute to school trips or enrichment activities where appropriate
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
* Experience teaching Geography in a school setting
* Ability to inspire and engage students across all abilities
* Strong classroom management and organisational skills
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
* An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
