Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Principal Electronics Design Engineer as a technical lead to our electronic design function within our Product Development team. Reporting to the Product Development Manager, this role involves developing new products in accordance with the Venta Product Roadmap in collaboration with other design functions such as mechanical and optical design.
The successful candidate will be the go-to for all things electronics design at Venta. They will be responsible for upholding a highly professional outfit delivering products that meet or exceed the brief, on time and within budget.
About the Role
The role of Principal Electronics Design Engineer involves:
* Developing robust electronic designs for lighting products that meet regulatory, performance, and aesthetic requirements
* Define, uphold, and continuously improve Venta’s electronic design standards and documentation.
* Work closely with the other functions of Venta's design team and other departments to ensure there is a consistent and integrated approach
* Provide technical direction, guidance, and feedback to internal and external engineering resources.
* Stay up to date with industry trends and use the insights to maintain the company's competitive edge.
* Deliver design milestones on time, within budget, and to quality standards
* Ensure electronic designs achieve long-term reliability and serviceability from day one.
* Update key stakeholders with project progress including mechanical solutions are validated and risks mitigated.

Requirements

This role is perfect for someone who is:
* Strong communicator
* Organised and strong project management skills
* Experienced in electronic design with at least 3 years in a lead or senior engineering capacity
* Extensive experience in power electronics, ideally within automotive lighting, LED systems, or other highly regulated industries.
* Expert proficiency in electronic design tools (preferably Altium Designer or equivalent), delivering complete design documentation from concept to manufacture.
* Deep expertise in designing products to meet stringent automotive and defence EMC compliance requirements.
We require someone with a Degree in an Electronics Engineering/ Design or related discipline and has a proven track record of leading projects through to completion as the technical lead.
