THE POSITION:
Prospero Teaching is currently recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join a School for students aged 4-19 in the Shepton Mallet area, on a long-term basis.
Our client is a SEN School and they are in need of an experienced Teaching Assistant to work with a small group of students with Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties. With the complex needs of these students, we are looking for individuals who are capable and enthusiastic to work in a challenging but highly rewarding environment.
We are particularly looking for individuals with excellent communication skills, and an ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and families, in order to support pupils with their learning. As an SEN TA at the school, you will be required to work with students on a 1:1 basis.

VACANCY DETAILS:
1. Location: Shepton Mallet, Somerset (BA4)
2. Position: Teaching Assistant – SEND
3. Contract: temporary to permanent (Long-term)
4. Hours: Full-time, am – pm
5. Start Date: ASAP (January 2024)
6. Pay Rate: £85-£95 per day
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:
7. Experience working with students with SEN (essential)
8. Experience working with students with ASD and Moderate Learning Difficulties (essential)
9. Experience working with young people with Speech and Language Difficulties
10. Strong communication skills and an understanding of how children and young people learn
11. Resilient, charismatic and compassionate
12. Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued in the last year – Prospero can provide this
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
13. Hold Right to Work in the UK
14. Hold an enhanced child-barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
15. Provide two professional references
