Weavers Lodge is a brand-new, purpose-built service in Castle Cary, designed to provide a warm, supportive and empowering environment for up to eight adults with learning disabilities and complex behavioural needs. Many of the individuals we support also live with autism, mental health conditions and communication challenges. As a Support Worker, youll help shape this pioneering service building not only a safe and nurturing home for service users but a truly values-driven, inclusive culture for all. About the Role In this hands-on, rewarding role, youll support adults to live their best lives through: Personal Care & Daily Living Supporting with dressing, hygiene, meals and routines Promoting dignity, independence and confidence in daily tasks Emotional Support & Behavioural Strategies Supporting individuals who communicate through behaviour Implementing proactive Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies Promoting wellbeing and reducing distress Meaningful Activities & Community Engagement Helping plan and participate in arts, music, sports, social outings and more Encouraging each person to explore their interests, develop skills, and build confidence About You Were looking for caring, patient and emotionally resilient people who are: Experienced in working with people with learning disabilities and/or behaviours that may challenge Skilled at building relationships based on trust, respect and consistency Calm and confident under pressure, especially when supporting complex behaviours Open to learning and reflective practice well support you with comprehensive training Youll need: At least 12 months experience in a similar care or support setting Willingness to work flexibly across a mix of shifts, including weekends and nights A commitment to person-centred, trauma-informed, and inclusive support Experience with PBS is welcomed but full accredited training is provided.
