Steelhaus Fabrications Ltd is looking for a reliable and hardworking General Operative to join our busy fabrication workshop. This is a hands‑on role supporting all areas of production, ensuring smooth operations and helping the team meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
* Assist with general duties across the shop floor
* Support laser, press brake, welding and fabrication teams as required
* Load and unload materials (manual handling involved)
* Keep work areas clean, tidy and safe
* Operate basic workshop equipment (training provided)
* Move parts between stations and prepare items for the next process
* Follow instructions and work to production plans
* Perform basic quality checks on workpieces
Requirements
* Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment (preferred but not essential)
* Good practical skills and willingness to learn
* Strong work ethic and positive attitude
* Ability to follow instructions and work safely
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast‑paced workshop
* Comfortable with manual handling
Desirable
* Forklift licence
* Experience in steel fabrication
* Familiarity with power tools or machinery
* Previous warehouse/operative experience
