About Our Role:
* Located in a beautiful Christchurch
* Permanent full-time (more than 32 hours per week on a regular basis)
* Hourly rate of 30.03

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Diversional Therapist with a passion for caring for others, to make a meaningful difference to the lives of our residents. You will have a positive compassionate attitude, the ability to make others smile, and be great at working with people. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our residents are cared for to the highest standard with kindness and patience, in a warm and caring atmosphere.
As a Diversional Therapist you will ensure residents have opportunities to be involved in interesting and varied activities offered to them daily that meet their physical, cognitive, social, spiritual and emotional needs, and encourage community involvement. This will include the planning, organising and delivery of activities, outings, events, and involvement in community groups. This is a truly rewarding opportunity that brings a difference into the lives of others. Work together in a team to provide a safe, caring and supportive environment for our residents. Form lasting relationships with residents and whanau-family. Adapt and support your wider team members to create a great team.
Your Skills and Experience:
* Passion for caring for others, ideally within an aged care environment.
* National Certificate in Diversional Therapy, an equivalent qualification or previous experience as an Activities Assistant
* Good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
* Full NZ drivers' licence, and confidence in driving a van
* A genuine love for helping people, excellent customer service skills, with a friendly and positive attitude.
* A passion for continuous improvement, with a sound understanding of the importance of health and safety procedures.
