SEN Teaching Assistant
Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Our large SEN school in Haywards Heath is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children who require tailored support in their learning journey.
Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (Full-time)
Location: Haywards Heath
Start Date: Asap
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-on-one and group support to children with SEN, ensuring they receive the necessary guidance and encouragement in their educational development.
* Assist teachers in implementing tailored learning strategies and lesson plans.
* Support the social, emotional, and behavioural development of students.
* Help with the preparation and adaptation of learning resources and materials.
* Foster an inclusive, supportive, and positive classroom environment for all students.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is essential.
* A patient, understanding, and empathetic approach to working with children.
* Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, students, and parents.
* A proactive and flexible attitude to meet the diverse needs of the children.
* Due to the rural location of the school, it is essential that you drive and have access to your own transport .

Experience, Training and Qualifications
* GCSE’s or equivalent
* Minimum 1 year working with children
* Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year
* Hold Right to Work in the UK
* Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
* Provide two professional child related references
