Job Purpose My client are pioneers in the Offshore Wind Industry and have a reputation for delivering technical solutions to a wide range of subsea asset protection applications. Working for the client the Design Engineer will be joining our team to play an important role in the product development of cable protection systems for the Offshore Wind and Oil & Gas Sectors. Working in the Engineering team, the Design Engineer will be required, as part of this team to carry out a wide range of engineering design activities, taking products from concept through to sales and ultimately project delivery. The Design Engineer will be involved in optimising designs, through fundamental design, mechanical and thermal simulation of components and systems, prototyping and physical testing and on-site and subcontract manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities Use of Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD and sketching to provide conceptual and detailed designs. Analysis of mechanical systems using a range of methods from hand calculations, spreadsheets, design codes through to non-linear FEA with ANSYS. Working closely with colleagues across the business, take ownership of design development, manufacturing, testing and take appropriate corrective actions where required.
