About the role: We have an exciting new opportunity as a Design Engineer. In this role, you’ll have a wide range of clean water infrastructure work to get involved in and our team can offer you technical exposure and skills you need to progress your career.
Location
This role can be based at any of our capital hubs: Shrewsbury, Derby, or Coventry.
Responsibilities
* Initially you will provide support to Senior & Principal Engineers to deliver projects to programme, within budget, to the correct quality standards.
* Work to CDM 2015.
* Design Clean Water Networks and understand hydraulics within a water system.
* Understand pipe connectivity and work with hydraulic Modellers to optimise designs.
* Design with carbon reduction in mind.
* Prepare Key Deliverable documents and undertake site visits.
What you’ll bring to the role
* Excellent stakeholder and client relationship management skills.
* Knowledge of how to design clean water distribution networks and pipelines.
* Understand or have knowledge of hydraulic modelling packages and their limitations.
* Ability to prepare optioneering and technical reports.
* Understanding of health and safety standards.
* Knowledge of operating and using systems including GIS and CAD.
* Understanding of managing design phases from feasibility to detailed design.
* Ability to work within a team of junior and senior/principal engineers.
