Lead the next chapter of philanthropic development at one of the UK’s most distinguished independent schools. Uppingham is seeking a fundraising leader to shape and deliver the next stage of the school’s philanthropic strategy. As Foundation Director, you will oversee a talented and motivated team, guiding the growth of sustainable income streams that support Uppingham’s strategic ambitions. Working closely with the Headmaster, Foundation Chair and International Development Director, you will take a long-term, relationship-based approach to donor engagement, ensuring that every interaction reflects the values and reputation of the school.
Responsibilities
* Lead the Foundation Director role and manage a team to grow sustainable income streams in support of Uppingham’s strategic ambitions.
* Develop and implement a long-term philanthropic strategy in collaboration with senior leadership and key stakeholders.
* Engage donors and alumni at senior levels, building trust and lasting relationships in line with the school’s values and reputation.
* Work closely with the Headmaster, Foundation Chair and International Development Director to align fundraising activity with school priorities.
* Inspire, develop and lead a team with clarity and care to achieve fundraising objectives.
Qualifications
* Senior professional with a strong track record in major gifts fundraising, ideally within an educational or cultural environment.
* Ability to influence at the most senior levels while maintaining genuine personal connection with donors and alumni.
* Strategic vision combined with warmth, diplomacy and integrity; capable of inspiring trust and nurturing relationships.
