Job Title: Production Engineer
Location: Cramlington
Salary: GBP 35,000:38,000
This is a varied, hands:on role with a 50/50 split between production engineering and maintenance activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting manufacturing operations, improving production efficiency, and ensuring machinery and equipment are maintained to minimise downtime.
Key Responsibilities: Production Engineering
: Support and improve day:to:day manufacturing processes
: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste
: Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions
: Support process optimisation, tooling improvements, and production line performance
: Work closely with production and quality teams to achieve operational targets
Maintenance Engineering
: Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities
: Respond to machine breakdowns and conduct fault:finding activities
: Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on manufacturing equipment
: Reduce downtime through effective troubleshooting and preventative measures
: Assist with machinery installation, upgrades, and commissioning
Candidate Requirements
: Previous experience within a manufacturing environment
: Strong maintenance engineering and fault:finding experience
: Mechanical and/or electrical engineering background
: Experience supporting production and process improvement activities
: Good understanding of health and safety within manufacturing
: Ability to work independently and as part of a team
: Engineering qualification preferred (NVQ/HNC/HND or equivalent)
