The Perch Inn, Oxford,
is a highly regarded, established destination public house, restaurant, and
wedding & events venue on the banks of the River Thames, with a reputation
for excellent food, fabulous service and a fantastic location.
We are looking for a
new Events Manager to join our team to continue to drive and develop the
wedding and events side of the business. This is a hands-on management role for
an experienced hospitality professional with strong F&B knowledge,
commercial acumen and a passion for hosting memorable occasions.
The Weddings &
Events Manager will own the full lifecycle of Perch events – from enquiry and
sales, through detailed planning and budgeting, to flawless on-the-day
delivery.
This is a Perch-based
role with no work-from-home involved.
Key Responsibilities
Drive weddings and events
sales and manage all planning and on-the-day delivery for Perch events and
weddings.
Lead, motivate and
develop the events team to deliver the high standards of service The Perch is
known for, embodying our “casual excellence” ethos.
Control event costs in
line with the events’ P&L, ensuring profitability while maintaining
quality.
Personally lead
events, combining impeccable organisation with a warm, relaxed, guest-focused
style.
Play an active role
within the wider management team, engaging enthusiastically with all areas of
the business.
During the winter events
downtime, to support our restaurant management team in delivering ‘Casual
Excellence’ throughout The Perch Inn.
Requirements
Highly motivated, organised and
self-sufficient, with excellent time management.
At least 2 years’ management
experience in hospitality and/or events, with a proven track record of running
successful functions and managing a team.
Confident, personable and
articulate, with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability
to build relationships with couples and corporate clients.
Creative, with a keen eye for detail
and aesthetics, ensuring the venue always looks its best and contributing ideas
for continual visual and experiential improvement; strong knowledge of the
wedding industry is essential.
