Description: Major Donor Fundraising Manager. These are ambitious times for the Charity after recently launching a new strategy that sees growing impact across the world exponentially. We have now an exciting opportunity for a proactive and professional individual with outstanding relationship building and influencing skills to join the dedicated Fundraising Department.
Position: 1934 Major Gifts Manager
Location: This role is nominally based at our site in Sidmouth, Devon – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – with hybrid working options. We consider fully remote/home working and flexible patterns to suit your needs.
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours/week, 08:30-16:30, Monday-Friday
Salary: £40,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Closing Date: Monday 26 May 2025 (role may close early if a suitable candidate is found). Interviews will be held during the week of 16 June 2025 in Sidmouth.
About the Role
As Major Gifts Manager, you will develop and implement the Major Gifts programme in line with annual targets and our Fundraising Strategy. You will work closely with the Head of Major Gifts to enhance and improve major gift activities, ensuring an integrated, donor-centric approach and continuous performance evaluation.
Your main duties include:
1. Contributing to and executing the Major Gifts Strategy, enhancing the portfolio and performance.
2. Delivering projects, fundraising targets, and KPIs.
3. Identifying and securing new donors and income opportunities within Major Gifts.
4. Leading donor cultivation and stewardship projects, including events.
5. Managing a portfolio of Mid-Value, Major Donors, and Charitable Trusts, building strong relationships.
6. Supporting the growth of the Major Gifts cultivation programme and pipeline.
7. Adapting to market trends and working with the Head of Major Gifts to incorporate this into strategies.
About You
You should have experience in managing, cultivating, and delivering major gifts, with a proven record of exceeding fundraising targets. Key qualities include:
* Excellent relationship-building skills with supporters at all levels.
* Knowledge of monitoring, evaluation, and interpreting programme performance.
* Experience in project budget management and reporting.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills.
* Ability to multitask and manage conflicting demands and deadlines.
