A school in Norwich is looking to appoint an efficient and proactive Cover Manager to coordinate daily and long-term cover for staff absence, ensuring continuity of learning across the school. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a Cover Manager:
1. Managing and organising daily staff cover, including arranging supply staff where necessary.
2. Liaising with teaching and support staff regarding planned and unplanned absences.
3. Maintaining up-to-date cover records and timetables.
4. Ensuring cover work is in place and communicated to relevant staff.
5. Supporting supply staff and cover supervisors to ensure effective lesson delivery.
6. Working closely with senior leadership, HR, and external agencies as required.
Ideal Cover Manager:
1. Be highly organised, flexible, and able to remain calm under pressure.
2. Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Be confident using IT systems and able to manage scheduling effectively.
4. Show initiative and take responsibility for delivering a key function within the school.
5. Ideally have experience working in a school environment or in a similar role.
